Currently, we are seeking an individual to join Vogel Bros.’ Madison, WI office as a full-time IT Specialist. Responsibilities of the IT Specialist position include (but are not limited to):

  • In collaboration with the IT Manager, manage all IT related tasks and equipment between multiple locations, remote jobsites, and end users in the office and field
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Technical support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting
  • Provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits as needed
  • Assist with Servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, Security, and more
  • Ensure up to date security practices and implementation
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory
  • Assist in and plan training, development and education for new software and hardware

Preferred skills include:

  • Proven work experience in IT
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and servers
  • Experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems
  • Experience with PC imaging
  • Detail oriented and a quick learner
  • Ability to solve problems on own

Candidates must possess:

  • Associates or bachelor’s in Information Technology related degree is preferred or 2+ years of experience
  • Possess and maintain valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
  • Reliable attendance is imperative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team player and take initiative to take on and complete tasks
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and manner for greeting guests, as well as professional telephone etiquette & friendly disposition for answering calls

Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and sit
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance
  • Indoor, non-smoking, temperature-controlled environment
  • Some exposure to outside elements if and when on job sites
