“Each day learn something new, and just as important, relearn something old.”
–Robert Brault*

Whether you’re a new apprentice or a seasoned journeyman one project away from retirement, Vogel Bros. believes we are all continual learners. When it comes to the safety of our employees on the jobsite, we believe in the value of presenting trainings that both the experienced and less-experienced craft workers can learn from.

National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction Week, May 7-11, 2018**
Falls in construction are far from new.*** Over the years, the hazards as well as the prevention methods have remained almost the same. Nevertheless, in 2015 16.9% of all fatal falls were from heights of 10 feet or less; in 2016 38.7% of construction deaths were from falls; and in 2017 – fall protection was the #1 most frequently cited standard violation by Federal OSHA.

Rather than accepting falls as a risk of the job, Vogel Bros. views this as an opportunity to better educate our craft workers. Which is why Vogel Bros. will be participating in the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction Week. We value creating a healthy and safe environment for our employees of all ages and experience levels.

Throughout the week of May 7-11, Vogel Bros. will have daily stand-downs where all project related work is stopped so that the craft workers can discuss fall hazards and prevention. Vogel Bros. will host special events at the jobs sites with guest presenters from OSHA and 3M. By bringing our craft workers together to pause, learn and relearn about hazards and prevention methods, we believe we can prevent our craft workers from contributing to these statistics.
