American Family Insurance wanted to create a “wow” factor at the main entrance of their corporate headquarters. In addition to reconfiguring their space, they wanted to enhance the marketing and branding elements for the 3,000+ people who work on campus.
In a multi-phase execution, the three floors totaling just over 25,000 square feet, were all intensely renovated. The first floor features a glass encased rotunda that received all new windows with electro-chromatic glazing (low voltage self-tinting). The HR department was completely demoed and remodeled with a new entryway, and two large meeting rooms were remodeled from some unused space. On the second floor, the atrium (which serves 1,000+ people a day) was remodeled along with their c-store. Live walls were added, as well as private and small group alcoves throughout the space. On the third floor, new carpet and paint were installed in the main hallways, and several updates were made to conference rooms.
It was critical to keep traffic patterns open, and noise/vibration to a minimum. As such, construction was performed in two shifts, with most of the noise
producing activities occurring at night.
