Over the last ten years, Vogel Bros. has had the opportunity to serve the construction needs of Luther Memorial on five separate occasions. Projects include a 15,650 square foot remodel of the lower level and a remodel of the narthex of the church. Renovations include remodeling of the ceiling, walls and floor finishes for apse and transepts in main sanctuary of the church, originally built in the 1920’s. The 80 foot ceilings featured ornamental plaster and involved marble and stone work for the new columbarium.
Our most recent project consisted of a 4-story, 26,000 sq ft remodel to the 100+ year old church that is listed on both the Wisconsin and National Register of Historic Places. This project was 10 years in the making and was another collaboration between Vogel Bros. Building Co. and Kubala Washatko Architects. KWA and Vogel Bros. have been partners for all of Luther Memorial Church’s projects for the past 20 years. This renovation was centered on adding an elevator in the east wing. The elevator addition would require a redesign of the affected 4 floors to better utilize space for their office, education, rental and food pantry spaces. Another objective was to make some improvements to the chancel and the choir loft.
