The Saint-Gobain Portage Plant Expansion project consists of a 48,000 sqft addition to the existing manufacturing facility. Site improvements include a parking lot addition, access road for improved site logistics, relocation of existing storage shed and resurfacing of existing parking lot.
The new facility will provide Saint-Gobain with the capacity for continued growth and development and includes a 9,000 sqft ISO 7 clean room with provisions for 2 additional clean rooms. The remaining space consists of mechanical and storage space to support the facility. Building mechanical air handling equipment will be housed in the mechanical space adjacent the PC-4 clean room. The building structure is a pre-engineered metal building similar in construction to the most recent addition to Saint-Gobain in 2003. The south elevation is a mixture of masonry and stucco to match the existing facility. The project also includes a new state of the art training room that also serves as a tornado shelter. The existing loading dock will be converted to a new employee entrance and interior space converted into a new locker room.
